Users may find the NASA/GISS Panoply NetCDF Viewer helpful for working with CarbonTracker NetCDF files.

  • 3-D Mole Fractions
    If you are interested in obtaining 3-hourly 3-D CO2 mole fraction fields for specific time periods, to use in your work, please contact us.

  • Various Fluxes
    This is a link to our FTP server, where we have made a set of CarbonTracker fluxes in various formats available. This includes TransCom fluxes, ecoregion fluxes, country fluxes, and global average 1x1 degree fluxes, on monthly and yearly time resolution. It is all available in NetCDF format for others to use in their work. Images of the contents of these files are included on the website under Flux Maps.

  • Assimilated Observations
    In CarbonTracker Europe we use observations from the ObsPack product version GLOBALVIEWplusv2.1. We included CO2 mole fractions from 96 global locations, measured by 21 different institutes. Please refer to Collaborators for contact information. Through this link to our FTP server, we make available our simulated mole fractions at each ObsPack location in NetCDF format. The actual ObsPack observations are not included in those files as we cannot distribute them, but they are publicly available here. Images of the contents of these files are included on the website under CO2 Time Series.

  • Source Code
    CarbonTracker Europe uses the CarbonTracker Data Assimlation Shell. In case you are interested to obtain the CarbonTracker Europe source code, please refer to our model description paper on CTDAS, which is published together with the source code. Or have a look here here, or contact us for more information. The main TM5 two-way nested transport model and additional data needed to run CarbonTracker Europe yourself can be made available upon request.

  • Auxiliary information
    • Our inversion regions are defined in the regions.nc file.
    • The set of "extended" regions formed by post-aggregation from the 22 TransCom regions is defined in the postagg_definitions.nc file.
